Hey everyone! I'm looking for some technical advice on my Kioxia Exceria Plus G2 2TB SSD, which has a rated endurance of 400 TBW. I've noticed some unusual wear even though I've only used it for about 47 hours. Here are the stats:
- Power-on hours: 47 hours.
- Total Host Writes: Approximately 2TB.
- Health: Dropped to 97% from 100% (which seems concerning to me).
A technician mentioned that "S.M.A.R.T. readings are just for reference" and that "0% health is still acceptable for usage." However, to me, losing 1% health every 15 hours of light use suggests a potential defect in the NAND. If this continues, I might hit 0% health in less than 2000 hours.
Should I consider this worth initiating an RMA? Thanks in advance!

I would recommend checking out DymaxIO by Condusiv Technologies. It helps minimize unnecessary writes and reduces what's called the Write Amplification Factor (WAF) on SSDs, which can ultimately help prolong the lifespan of your drive. The software uses AI to optimize performance by ensuring more sequential writes rather than random ones. This can make a big difference in your SSD's health.

Honestly, if your SSD is still under warranty, I’d say go ahead and RMA it. Losing health that quickly isn't normal. If you’re looking for a reliable brand next time, Samsung has a solid reputation. Good luck!

I actually installed DymaxIO a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve noticed improvements in how my SSD performs. It definitely makes a difference!
