I recently built my first computer, but I'm facing a strange issue. When I turn it on, it powers off just a few seconds later. The first time I powered it up, it ran for a few minutes but didn't show anything on the monitor, and the motherboard's red VGA light was on the whole time. After that initial attempt, every time I turn it on now, it powers down almost immediately. I noticed that the motherboard's DRAM red light comes on for a moment, then the red CPU light turns on, and then the system shuts down. Here's what I've tried so far:
- I reconnected the CPU power cable and tried using a different cable from the PSU.
- I checked the CPU for bent pins but couldn't find any issues.
- I removed and reseated the RAM, although I only have one stick.
- When I power on the machine without the CPU power cable, it stays on, but the red CPU light remains lit.
Here are my components:
- AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Processor
- ID-COOLING SE-214-XT ARGB CPU Cooler
- HIKSEMI SSD RAYO LITE M.2 NVME 1TB
- Gigabyte B850M DS3H ICE Micro ATX Motherboard
- Crucial Pro Overclocking 16 GB DDR5 RAM
- Aerocool P500C Mid Tower Case
- Super Flower Leadex III Gold 650W Power Supply

First, check if your GPU (if you have one) is seated properly and that all cables are connected tight. If you're using integrated graphics, make sure the RAM is in the right slots. Most motherboards have a preferred slot for a single stick, usually marked as 'A1' or something similar. Also, ensure your CPU cooler has thermal paste applied! Let me know what GPU you have and if your power supply is rated high enough for all your components!

I don't have a GPU yet, just relying on the integrated graphics for now. The RAM is in the second slot because the manual mentioned to use slots 2 and 4 for single sticks, but didn't clarify. I did apply the thermal paste that came with the cooler.
