Seeking Advice on a Beginner’s Budget Gaming PC Build

Hi everyone! I'm assisting a friend in Finland with her very first gaming PC build, and I've put together some parts that I hope will work well. The goal is to create a gaming setup that can handle titles at 1080p, especially flight simulators and LOTR: Return to Moria, along with other games like The Sims and Resident Evil. Our budget is around 1200 euros. I've manually listed the parts and prices in euros based on local retailers, but they are approximate. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! By the way, the GPU I selected is currently on discount, but if the price goes back up, I might opt for a B580 instead. I've heard some concerns about having only 8GB of VRAM, as it may not suffice for upcoming games.

I totally get that budget constraints make it tough for a decent 16GB card. The 580 does seem to be a solid option. Also, it’s great to hear you’re considering a mATX case! It’ll be easier to manage in terms of space.

This looks solid! Unless you're planning to crank up something like Cyberpunk to max settings, the jump to 16GB might not be worth it. Some people can be a bit snobbish about VRAM, but for most games, you'll be fine with 8GB right now.

Not a bad setup! A couple of tweaks could make it even better. I’d suggest upgrading the cooler to a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 for better performance and less noise. Also, think about going with a mATX case and motherboard to save some space. As for VRAM, while 8GB isn't terrible at the moment, future games might start pushing that limit. If you can swing it, 16GB would be the way to go.
