I currently have an Intel Core i5-10505 along with 32GB of DDR4 RAM on a ROG Strix B460F motherboard. I'm planning an upgrade to an ASUS TUF Gaming B660 Plus WiFi D4 motherboard, and I'm also looking to switch to an Intel Core i5-14400F CPU. I understand that I need to update the BIOS, but I'm curious if anyone has experience with this configuration. Should I go ahead with the 14th Gen, or would it be wiser to stick with a 13th Gen CPU instead?

The performance difference between the 13th and 14th Gen Intel CPUs is pretty minimal, so if you find the i5-13400F at a better price, it might be a good option. Alternatively, if you come across a good deal on the i5-12600K or KF, that could be worth considering too, but just make sure you have a solid cooler since the stock one might not cut it.
I've got a tower cooler with nine fans set up, and I’m running a similar build without any liquid cooling issues. Just make sure your cooling is up to par if you decide to go with one of the higher performance CPUs!
