I'm planning to build a PC for architectural rendering as well as some gaming. I'm torn between the Ryzen 9 9950X and the Ryzen 7 9800X3D to pair with an RTX 5070 Ti. Which one would be the better choice for my needs?

The 9800X3D is more tailored for gaming, while the 9950X excels in multi-threaded tasks. Given your focus on rendering, the 9950X might be a better fit.
For gaming, the 9800X3D has an advantage due to its 3D cache, which performs really well. While it runs slightly slower in clock speed, the cache is crucial. In rendering, the 9950X can shine if your software can effectively utilize its cores.
Thanks a lot!
I think the Ryzen 9 9950X would probably perform better for your rendering tasks, but that's just my opinion. You might want to check other opinions too!
Thanks for your input!
Consider whether your rendering software utilizes GPU acceleration. If it does, you might not need the extra power of the 9950X; it could be overkill for your needs. Also, the 9900X3D could be a solid option since it often sells at good prices and offers decent performance.
Lumion is my primary rendering software.
Honestly, you might want to consider the Intel Core Ultra 270K instead of going with AMD. It could be a better fit depending on what you're looking for.

Noted, I appreciate the insight!
