I recently installed Ubuntu 26.04, but now the sound quality is terrible, like it's coming from a tin can. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I'm unsure where to start with troubleshooting this. I've tried various commands and have installed and reinstalled software packages related to sound, like PipeWire and ALSA, but I'm totally lost. Any guidance would be appreciated!

It’s pretty common to run into sound issues, especially with new installs. Linux often doesn’t automatically configure audio enhancements that some hardware needs, which might make the sound worse. I suggest giving 'easyeffects' a try. It can help you adjust the audio to match your device’s needs, and you might find EQ presets that work for you on GitHub too!

I didn’t add any effects myself; it’s a clean install on a new drive.
