I'm curious if data can still be recovered from a USB stick after it's been fully formatted, assuming no new data has been saved to it. Does this situation differ from a quick format?

Absolutely, recovering data can be quite simple! Just avoid using the USB stick, as that can overwrite existing data. I’d recommend trying out EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard; it’s user-friendly and has solid free options, especially for Linux users.

I don’t get why this post is getting downvoted. He makes a good point! A format doesn’t actually erase the data; it just makes it invisible to the operating system. If you have the right tools, you can access that data. Plus, Windows has options for fully erasing drives that write random data over existing files.

Quick formats usually allow for easier recovery. However, with a full format, the chances drop significantly because of how USB flash memory works. Still, in some cases, it might be possible to partially recover the data if nothing new has been written.

Yes, it is definitely possible! I helped a friend recover their data after a full format. As long as you haven't overwritten anything or actively wiped the data, using the right recovery tools can make the process straightforward.
