What’s the Best GPU in the RTX 3000 Series for a Budget Build?

I'm looking to build a budget gaming PC for around $1500 and want recommendations for a GPU and CPU combo that won't bottleneck. I specifically need a CPU that supports DDR4 RAM because the prices for RAM are getting out of control. I don't have extensive knowledge about computer parts, so I'd appreciate any guidance on this!

You might want to think beyond just the 3000 series. There's a lot of performance overlap with GPUs from the past three generations, and newer models are compatible too. Your main constraints will be your budget and power supply. Often, it's better to grab a newer lower-tier GPU instead of an older high-end one, since they use less power and tend to be quieter and better supported long-term.

I've found that the 3080 (12GB) or the 3080 Ti (12GB) are fantastic options with high VRAM and excellent performance. Just make sure to undervolt them for better power consumption.

The 3080 is probably the best option for price versus performance right now, and it's still widely available. Just keep an eye on the used market for good deals! For newer builds, consider getting a 5500 paired with a 9060 XT for an even lower price.

If you want a solid combo, try a 3070 with either an AMD 5600X or 5800X for great value. If you can snag a 3080 for $300 or so, that would be an excellent deal! The 3080's been a popular choice for its price-to-performance ratio.

What resolution do you plan on playing at? Knowing that would help in giving better suggestions. If your focus is on FPS games like CS2 and you prioritize graphics quality, that can influence which GPU might serve you best.
