Trouble with Internet Speed on My PC Only

I'm having a weird issue with my PC's internet connection. Although it shows that I have internet access with a speed of 350mbps, I'm actually getting speeds under 5kbps when trying to access anything online. I've tried updating my drivers and checking the router settings with no luck. Interestingly, my PC only gets a decent speed of around 5mbps when I connect to the WiFi range extender at the back of the house. All my other devices are working perfectly fine, and this problem started just today. I'd really appreciate any suggestions or ideas on how to fix this!

It sounds like your PC is showing it's connected fine, but data isn't flowing right. First, try rebooting both your PC and router by shutting them down, unplugging the router for 60 seconds, then turning everything back on. If you're on Wi-Fi, forget the network on your PC and reconnect to it. You might also run some commands in Command Prompt like 'netsh winsock reset' and 'ipconfig /renew' to refresh your connection. If you have a VPN or any third-party antivirus, temporarily disable those as they can mess with connections too. Lastly, test with Ethernet if you're on Wi-Fi or vice versa, to see where the issue lies.

Have you looked into potential signal issues? If possible, run an Ethernet cable directly to your PC for the best performance. If that’s not feasible, upgrading your WiFi adapter could help improve the connection too. Another option is to get a second WiFi extender if needed.

Make sure to check if your router has any throttling settings turned on. If it does, that could be affecting your PC's speed. Also, ensure your external antennas are positioned correctly and that there aren't any heavy obstructions between your PC and the router.

If you’re using Windows, consider doing a network reset. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset, and hit 'Reset now'. This reinstalls network adapters and could fix your problem. Don't forget to restart your computer after!
