Is Overheating Common with the New iPhone 17e During Use and Charging?

Hey everyone! I just got my hands on a new iPhone 17e, and I'm noticing it gets pretty hot even during simple tasks like browsing and setting it up. It heats up a lot while charging too, which feels unusual compared to my old iPhone 13. I'm curious if this overheating is normal for a new phone or if it might be a sign of a hardware or software issue. Should I keep an eye on it for a bit longer or think about getting it replaced? Thanks for your help!

If the phone gets warm only during heavy use but isn’t shutting down or displaying overheating warnings, you're likely fine. New iPhones can feel warm during those initial background tasks, but if it’s just warm and nothing else, it's probably a non-issue.

It’s fairly normal, especially with a fresh device. It can heat up quite a bit depending on usage patterns, updates, and processes running in the background. If it doesn’t show any temperature warnings, I’d suggest taking a break and letting it cool down. Enjoy some time outside!

When you're setting up a new phone, it's working hard—downloading updates, syncing apps, etc. So, a bit of warmth is expected. It might also heat up during software updates. Just give it some time, and it should settle down once everything's set up.
