Should I Upgrade to an OLED Monitor Now or Wait?

I've been using a Samsung 32" VA panel UWQHD gaming monitor for about 5 years, and it's been fantastic without any issues. I'm considering an upgrade to a 4K OLED monitor, either 27" or 32", because I've heard amazing things about their color and contrast. However, I'm concerned about potential burn-in, the shorter lifespan, and text clarity. Are the newer OLED models better at handling burn-in? Are there specific models known for good burn-in prevention? I'm also worried about keeping static images on the screen for long periods since I might accidentally leave something up. I've checked out options from ASUS, MSI, Samsung, and LG, but I'm hesitant to spend €600-€1000 unless I'm sure it's worth it. Would you recommend making the switch to OLED now, or should I wait for better technology and prices? Also, what are some reliable 4K OLED models in the 27"-32" range that won't break the bank?

Totally worth the upgrade if you're mostly into gaming or watching movies! New OLEDs have better burn-in protection, but if you use it for static content like spreadsheets a lot, it might be a good idea to wait for the next generation. If your current monitor is working just fine, no rush! But for color and HDR, OLED is a game changer!

I’d recommend waiting a bit longer for the 5th-gen QD-OLEDs that are launching soon. They’re supposed to improve on burn-in even further and might be more future-proof for your needs. Just hang tight a few more months if you can!

You could also look into mini LED monitors; they're getting better and might offer a good experience at a lower price point. Don’t rush into an OLED unless you're absolutely sure, but it's definitely worth considering.

Honestly, OLED prices have come down significantly lately, so it’s a great time to buy if you can find a good deal. Just make sure you check for features that help with burn-in. If you've been waiting, maybe it's time to take the plunge!

I just switched to a 32" OLED and it’s incredible! I haven’t noticed any burn-in issues at all, it's mostly about how you use it. Just make sure to use the built-in features like pixel shifting and keep the brightness in check. No regrets here!
