I'm having an annoying issue where my PC randomly goes black screen—my monitor completely loses signal—and the GPU fans ramp up to 100%. The only way I can fix it is by doing a hard reset. This problem popped up when I had my old RTX 2060 and now, it's happening with my new RTX 3070. My current specs include a Zotac RTX 3070 connected with a dedicated dual 8 pin cable, a brand new Corsair RM750e PSU, and a fresh Micro Center bundle with an MSI B650 motherboard and Ryzen 5 7500x3d. I've also got GSKILL Ripjaws s5 4800 RAM.
I've already tried a bunch of fixes: I did a full DDU wipe and clean driver install, reinstalled Windows on a new SSD, disabled XMP/EXPO in the BIOS, and even plugged my PC directly into the wall. Since this problem has followed me from my old build to this new one, what else could be causing this? Could it possibly be an issue with the house wiring, or is it possible that the motherboard I received is defective? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I've basically replaced every part trying to fix this!

Sounds like a frustrating situation! It’s weird how this issue persisted through different builds. It could be a sign of a power delivery issue if you're using those adapters. As for the thermals, monitoring them is a great idea. That data may reveal if heat is a contributing factor. Also, if the problem continues, considering a power supply that's known for solid performance could be worth exploring.
It sounds like you might want to reconsider your power connections. Are you sure your Zotac RTX 3070 is using the correct cable? You might be better off using the standard 8 pin connectors from your PSU instead of adapters, as they can sometimes lead to issues. Also, have you checked the thermals of your GPU? Using HWINFO can give you insights into voltage and temperature conditions before the crash, which might help identify the culprit. Lastly, checking the event viewer can provide additional clues about the crash.
