I'm currently facing a problem with my C drive being almost full. I've only got 13.6 GB left out of 237 GB, and I'm unsure how to clean it out. I believe the only files on there are necessary for the system to operate properly. Can anyone provide tips or methods to help me reclaim some space?

Honestly, a 256GB drive is pretty small these days. Even Windows and a few apps can take up most, if not all, of that space. Are you using a laptop or a desktop? Upgrading the drive would be my recommendation. I'd say go for at least 512GB for a modern setup—it's a good starting point, but larger is better depending on how you use your computer.

A 250GB SSD doesn't leave much room for modern Windows, so it's pretty common to run into this issue. You might consider upgrading to a larger SSD—you could clone your current setup onto the new drive.

Another option is to wipe the drive and reinstall Windows, which will give you some extra space, but keep in mind it might fill up again over time. There are a few ways to recover space, but they won't be very significant or long-lasting.

It's tough to think about upgrading your drive right now, but a 1TB drive would be ideal. Given the current software demands, you might find 250GB to just be too small.

To really figure out where all your space is going, you should also check out WizTree. It can quickly point out which folders are occupying the most space, which might help you manage your storage better.

Have you tried using WinDirStat? It gives a clear picture of what's taking up space on your drive. It's a simple tool and can help you identify large files and folders that you might not need.
