I'm building a PC this summer with a Ryzen 7 9700X and was considering a Radeon RX 9070 XT. However, I'm looking to save some money, so I thought about getting a RX 9060 XT instead and upgrading later, maybe in 6 to 12 months. Would the 9700X still perform well with the 9060 XT?

Honestly, the Ryzen 7 9700X should handle almost any GPU just fine, except maybe the latest heavy hitters at 1080p. So yeah, you’ll be good with the 9060 XT!
If gaming is your main focus, why not consider downgrading the CPU instead? Something like a 7500F or 7600 might be better than settling for a lesser GPU.
Honestly, just get the GPU you really want now unless budget is a huge issue. Going for the 9060 XT might lead to a frustrating experience for six months, and reselling it later could be a hassle since demand for 9060 XT 8GB models isn't great.

Is the 9070 XT worth the extra cash then?
