Struggling with Azure Quota Limits – Any Solutions?

I've been facing a lot of frustration with Azure lately, particularly with their quota issues. Despite my attempts to request quota increases in US East and East 2, I'm hitting a wall and unable to secure even a few new SQL hosts with sizable memory. I originally preferred to keep my infrastructure on-premises but unfortunately, circumstances have pushed me towards Azure. Any thoughts on how to navigate these quota challenges? Note: shifting to AWS isn't an option for me right now.

If you have flexibility with your workloads, look into deploying in less utilized regions. I’ve noticed that some areas still have capacity, though they're harder to expand into. But with server costs rising, it’s going to be even more challenging to find solutions moving forward.

Totally agree! I remember going for a major upgrade to our servers, and when management suggested the cloud, I warned of the potential costs. Now our cloud expenses keep climbing, and we're realizing that we could have basically paid off our hardware in less than two years instead of going cloud-only.

Yeah, quota strain is tough right now, especially in certain regions. AI growth has limited options for us in the UK too, leading to no choice but to opt for pricier Premium SKUs. If you're starting a project, definitely plan your resources ahead, or you'll likely face serious setbacks.

It seems you're not alone in this! Capacity issues have been around long before AI became a hot topic, mostly due to COVID-related supply chain impacts. The bigger cloud providers didn't foresee the level of demand we're seeing now. Just keep in mind, the cloud isn't as flexible as everyone claims. It's important to have realistic expectations when planning your projects.

I can relate! We've had several denied requests for quotas, and moving to another region isn't an easy solution since we’ve invested a lot into the current setups and teams. It's frustrating that after all the effort, a simple quota issue can throw a wrench in everything. I really wish they’d simplify the process for customers.
