I've noticed that my Patriot M.2 P310 240 GB SSD has dropped in health from 100% to 94% in about five months, and I'm wondering if this is typical. I have another SSD, a 1TB model, that is still at 100%. I'm using Windows 11, and I've seen mixed opinions online. Should I actually be concerned about this decline in health, or is it just how SSDs operate?

Honestly, think of it like drinking a bottle of water. Once you drink, the volume decreases. SSDs are similar; they’ll show wear as you write data over time, but it doesn't mean they're failing. No need to stress!
It's pretty normal for SSDs to lose some health percentage over time. 94% should be fine for the lifespan of that drive. It can fluctuate as you use it, so no big worry if it stays around that number.
What’s your typical write load? If it's your boot drive, it can wear a bit faster. Also, remember that sustained speeds on a 240GB model can drop quickly after the SLC cache fills. Watch your usage, but don’t panic just yet!
I write about 3222 GB. It’s my boot drive, while the other SSD is for games. Normally, it runs around 200-300 MB/s.
How old is the SSD? Did you buy it recently or is it older? If it's just five months old, then a drop like this can happen, especially if you’ve been using it heavily.
I got it with my new PC, so it should be pretty new!

I thought so too! But it's kind of alarming how quickly it dropped from 95% to 94%. Should I expect to see it drop to 93% soon?
