How can I reset my iPad if I’ve forgotten the passcode?

I'm trying to bring my old iPad back to life for some animation projects, but it's been turned off for a while, and I've completely forgotten the passcode. When I connect it to my PC, it doesn't even show up in the Apple devices app. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting it reset?

First, check the cable you're using to connect your iPad to your PC. Sometimes a faulty cord can cause connection issues. Make sure it's a good-quality cable that works with your device; it could make all the difference.

If your iPad is locked to an iCloud account, you might be in a tough spot. The age of your device could be a factor too. How old is it? If it's an older model, it might have limitations that complicate the reset process.

I can't be sure about the iCloud status, but it's about 8 years old, probably an iPad Pro Max.

This might sound odd, but sometimes iPads need a specific kind of charger to charge properly. If you're using a third-party charger, try switching to an original Apple charger, or at least one that provides enough power. Some computers have weaker ports that might not charge as effectively.
