Is 35 Mbps Internet Speed Enough for My Needs?

Hi everyone! I'm moving into supported housing due to my MS, and I've got a limited income. I received some options for internet plans, but they all cap out at 35 Mbps. I mainly use my phone for Reddit, watch YouTube videos, and use WhatsApp. I don't game or have a computer, but I might want to set up a Ring doorbell since the area isn't the safest. I do have a tablet, but I rarely use it. I'm wondering if I need to spring for a more expensive plan or if the budget options will be sufficient. I'd love to keep my costs low, maybe around £15 a month, since my entertainment relies heavily on the internet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! 🌸

Be careful with Ring! I have it and regret paying for the subscription service. Consider looking into other security systems, like Reolink, for better options.

For a single user, 35 Mbps is okay. Streaming in 1080p usually needs about 10 Mbps, so you should have enough for that! Even some 4K streaming could work, but it really depends on how much you use it.

I hope this helps! Are you considering a phone plan instead? Some folks use their phone as a hotspot for their tablets, which could save you the hassle of getting a separate broadband plan. Just a thought!

You'll be absolutely fine with those speeds for what you're doing. 35 Mbps is sufficient for browsing and watching videos.

Streaming videos will eat up the most bandwidth, but with 35 Mbps, you should be just fine, especially if you're the only one using it. Enjoy your time online without worries!
