I've been using the Ryzen 5 3600 for quite a while now, and I'm considering an upgrade to the Ryzen 7 5700X. I have an RTX 4060 Ti and a B450M motherboard. My primary use is gaming, but I also do some rendering work. I'm eager to hear your thoughts and suggestions on whether this upgrade is worthwhile.

Absolutely, it's totally worth it! The Ryzen 5000 series brings a significant boost over the 3000 series, plus you're gaining extra cores with the 5700X. It’ll pair well with your 4060 Ti, especially for gaming and productivity tasks. Plus, you can always consider upgrading to something like a 4070 Ti later on.

I recently upgraded from a R5 3600 to a R7 5700X, mainly for CPU-heavy games like Dota2 and WoW. It’s been a really good move for me!

Yes, it's a smart upgrade, especially for gaming and rendering tasks. The 5700X has a similar L3 cache as the 3600 but with a higher clock speed and two additional cores. I went from a 3600 to a 5600 and saw great improvements in performance. This is still a solid upgrade!

I just made the jump from a 3600X to a 5700X, and I noticed a solid improvement in gaming performance. It's not a game-changing upgrade, but it’s definitely noticeable, especially at 1440p with my setup. Totally worth it if you're looking to improve your experience!

Consider the resolution you’re gaming at. Some games will show a performance improvement while others might not. Performance gains can vary.

It really depends on whether your current games are bottlenecked by the CPU. If that’s the case, the 5700X will give you a noticeable FPS boost.

Upgrading won’t shift the gaming performance by much for most titles. However, it might set you up nicely to upgrade to a used higher-end GPU down the line. If you’re sticking with the 4060 Ti, you might not see huge gains.

Yeah, I just got my 4060 Ti not long ago, so I'm not looking to change my GPU any time soon.

I switched from the 3600 to the 5700X and the difference in CPU-bound games like Dota2 and WoW was massive for me. But for something like Elden Ring, the graphics card is really what matters.
