I'm considering purchasing a Western Digital Black SN850X 1TB NVMe SSD for $200. I really need more storage since I'm currently limited to a 256GB SSD and I'm running low on space. Is this a worthwhile investment?

If you're making the jump from an SSD to NVMe, then yes, it could be worthwhile. However, if you find a less expensive SSD or HDD for game storage, that could also suffice. I’ve been using my 2TB M.2 alongside 3TB HDDs and it works fine for me. I’d suggest waiting for prices to stabilize for more options later on.

Considering the current memory prices, it's not a bad deal. If it fits your needs for gaming and storage, go for it! Just be aware that there are often cheaper alternatives if you're looking for more savings.

There are definitely better value SSDs out there right now. The ADATA XPG GAMMIX is around $180, and with just a bit more, you can snag a decent 2TB option. Just something to think about as prices fluctuate.

Before making a purchase, think about the games you play. A lot of older games run perfectly on standard HDDs, so unless you're dealing with huge, new titles, an HDD might still be a solid choice. I have a ton of my games stored on HDDs and it's worked out fine so far!

Exactly! Store the heavier games on SSDs, but use HDDs for anything older or less intensive. It'll save you money!

If you're just looking for more storage, you might want to save some cash and check out something like the Patriot P400. For gaming and everyday use, any decent NVMe drive will do quite fine, and you won't notice a big difference unless you’re pushing for top-tier performance. Prices are a bit steep right now, so sticking to budget-friendly options is smart!

Totally agree! If you're mainly storing games and not running heavy applications, you can skip on the higher-end models. Just find a good NVMe that fits your needs and budget.

You might find used options that are cheaper. I saw 2TB SSDs available for around $200! Just keep in mind the quality and condition.
