I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade my current gaming PC or just go for a completely new build. I play a mix of games including Star Citizen, War Thunder, Deadlock, and some single-player titles like Star Wars Jedi Survivor. I have a budget of $1,800. My current setup includes an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, a GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, 32 GB of RAM, and a combination of HDD and SSD storage. What do you all think?

Your build is decent, but the GPU is getting a bit old. I'd suggest upgrading the GPU within your budget, and consider a CPU upgrade to something like the 5800X3D or the 5950X if you’re focused on gaming. The 5800X3D is particularly good for gaming performance.
I've noticed the prices for the 5800X3D are soaring. Wouldn't it be smarter to snag a cheaper option and save for an AM5 upgrade later?
For $1,800, going for a full rebuild makes a lot of sense. The Ryzen 5 3600 is quite outdated now. Instead of spending on just upgrading your AM4 setup, consider investing in a 7600X3D with a new motherboard; that would future-proof your build for next-gen gaming.
That's a solid point! Waiting for RAM prices to drop could also help optimize the new build cost.
If you're looking for 1440p gaming, I recently did my first build and have some tips that might help. Let me know what you think!
With your budget, I’d recommend getting a 5500x3D CPU along with a new GPU to really enhance your gaming experience. The higher-tier CPUs like 5700x3D and 5800x3D often have inflated prices that might not justify their performance benefits right now.
Check out this great bundle I found: a Ryzen 7 9800X3D along with a new motherboard and RAM; it could save you some hassle! You could even reuse your old drives to cut costs.

Yeah, I agree! Going for the 5800X3D and selling your old GPU to get a used 40XX or 50XX series card could really boost your performance while staying under budget.
