Hey everyone! I've recently started working from home and I have an HP 250 G9 laptop with Windows 11 Pro provided by my company. They gave me one external screen, but I really need a second one for better productivity. I've tried using a USB-C to HDMI adapter, but it didn't work. Then, I purchased a DRIVERGENIUS USB 3.0 to HDMI converter, but that didn't work either. I found out that the USB-C port on my laptop is just for data, not video or audio. The USB 3.0 is the standard type, not the faster blue one, so it likely lacks the power needed for the converter. Where I live, DisplayLink hubs are super expensive, around 200 euros, and I'm looking for a more affordable solution since this is just for work. I'm wondering if I could connect the monitors wirelessly with an adapter or if there's an easier way to get them working separately. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Using a basic HDMI splitter is another option you could try, but keep in mind that it might not work for having separate screens; they could mirror each other instead. If you really need them to operate independently, a good quality USB dock would be better. Check to see if your company can provide you with one since that would solve your issue more effectively.
You might want to look into getting a docking station instead of just a single adapter. It can seem costly, but it would allow you to connect multiple displays easily. You should definitely talk to your company about your need for an extra screen; they might be willing to help out with that.

I appreciate the suggestion! But I'm worried that a splitter won't give me the separate displays I'm aiming for. I'm really looking for a solution that lets me utilize both screens independently.
