I've had my custom PC running smoothly for about three years, but recently it started acting up. About a year ago, it would occasionally not boot, showing a solid red CPU light and a yellow DRAM light. It would usually start after a few power cycles, but over time, it got progressively worse to the point where it's now completely dead and won't boot at all. I've already tried several troubleshooting steps:
- Resetting the CMOS
- Cleaning and reseating the RAM
- Reseating the GPU
- Testing with just one RAM stick in the A2 slot (none worked)
- Checking for bent pins on the CPU and motherboard, reapplied thermal paste, and reseated both the CPU and cooler
- Swapping out the power supply for a new one
- Replacing the motherboard with a different model
None of these have resolved the issue. Is my only option now to buy a new CPU?

It sounds like it's time to start replacing parts to figure out what's failed. Three years isn't a long time, though it does happen. Given the troubleshooting you've done, it might be the CPU or motherboard failure since you've already swapped out the motherboard. Fingers crossed it's just the CPU!

But wait, you mentioned replacing the motherboard. Do you think it could be the SSDs causing this issue instead?
