What happens to my Apple ID if my iPhone breaks?

I need some help with my situation. My iPhone stopped working after charging alongside my grandma's phone and a portable charger. It's completely dead; I've tried everything, including a factory reset, but nothing has worked. The Apple Store and Verizon haven't been able to help either. I have insurance with Boost Mobile, and they said if it's a software issue, they'll send me a new iPhone 16. My main worry is my Apple ID and keeping my same phone number. Since I have no way to verify my identity through two-factor authentication now that my phone is broken, I'm not sure if I can still access my Apple ID. I have all my login information linked to it, like social media and streaming services. If I can keep the same phone number, can I log back into my Apple ID? Will I lose access to it?

You're overthinking this! When you get your new phone, you should be able to keep the same phone number since that's tied to your account and not the phone itself. Do you know your Apple ID password? If you're logged in on your grandma's iPad with the same Apple ID, you should receive a code for approval when you try to log in on your new phone. Also, try logging into iCloud.com to see if you can access anything there.

Just grab the SIM card from your old phone and put it in the new one. That should sort you out!

Well, I’m using an eSIM, so it’s a bit different.
