I'm doing some research and wanted to know how likely it is for my Gmail account, and email services in general, to get hacked in a specific scenario. I've logged in on only one device, I have a few accounts linked (1-4), I use a strong password, but I haven't set up two-factor authentication. I'm also excluding risks from clicking suspicious links or falling for malware—basically, I want to know about the security of my account from an owner-initiated perspective. Does that make sense?

Honestly, I really think you should set up 2FA on your email. It's just a critical layer of security, and the risks are too high to ignore. Even if you're not planning to do anything risky, better safe than sorry!
You might need to clarify more about what you mean by excluding malicious links and malware. If you leave those out, you really can't accurately assess the risk of being hacked. It just complicates the question a bit.
What about if an email service itself gets breached? I'm trying to compare risk factors and see if my setup is okay for avoiding hacks.
The chances are pretty negligible in this scenario. If you're not getting into any risky behavior and just using your account safe and sound, you're at a low risk. Most real threats come from client-side issues or negligence rather than just the absence of 2FA.
O alright, thank you!
I know it's important! I'm just really curious about how safe my account is without it, given my setup.
