Why is my keyboard cutting out while gaming?

I've been experiencing issues with my keyboard while playing games like Resident Evil 7 and Far Cry 7. The keyboard occasionally stops responding, and shortly after, my system crashes and restarts, showing a message that the system has stopped responding. Sometimes the keyboard will work again after a restart, but other times it won't. When I check the device manager, the HID keyboard device is often missing, and I have to reinstall it to get the keyboard functioning again. Can anyone explain what's going on? My setup includes a Lenovo LOQ with a Ryzen 7, RTX 3050, and 24GB of RAM.

It sounds like your USB controller might be overheating or losing power during intense gaming sessions. One thing you can try is disabling the USB selective suspend setting in your power options; this prevents the ports from shutting down unexpectedly. Also, ensure that your BIOS is updated via the Lenovo Vantage app, as the LOQ models can have bugs that affect keyboard performance at high temps.

I've faced a similar issue with my external hard drive randomly disconnecting and reconnecting. It happens even at lower temperatures while just watching videos, so I get how frustrating this can be!
