Is it worth upgrading my PC build?

I'm considering an upgrade for my PC but I'm not sure if the investment is justified. Currently, I have an MSI PRO B550M-VC WIFI motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor, 32GB of RAM, and a 9070xt GPU. I'm looking at an upgrade to an ASUS ROG STRIX B850-A with a Ryzen 5 9600x, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and a Cooler Master Elite Liquid 360 CPU AIO Cooler for a total of $546. Is this upgrade worth it? Also, I apologize for my English; it's my second language.

What do you primarily use your computer for?

I primarily use it for gaming.

If you're gaming at 1440p, I'd suggest holding off on the upgrade. Keep using your current setup until the CPU really starts to bottleneck performance. It's likely doing just fine for now.

Honestly, I wouldn't say it's worth it. You're losing half the RAM capacity and moving to a CPU with fewer cores for a minimal performance boost, and it's going to cost you around $600. If you're considering an upgrade, maybe wait for AMD to release the 5800X3D or 5700X3D in 2026 instead. But to be fair, you might not even need an upgrade right now.
