Since you're aiming for an upgrade without going all out, focusing on an SSD makes a lot of sense. A nice M.2 SSD would give you good speed improvements without breaking the bank. Just keep in mind that your motherboard will limit you to PCIe 4.0 speeds, so check compatibility before purchasing.
