Help Getting My Dell T3610 to Work with a 5070 GPU

I'm trying to set up a Dell T3610 as a temporary gaming PC while I wait for prices to go down. I have a 5070 GPU that I want to use, but I'm running into issues. The T3610 has a Xeon E5 1620 V2 processor and 64GB of DDR3 RAM. I've got the GPU connected in the second PCIe slot (3.0). To avoid using any adapters, I bought an 850W MSI power supply that is only powering the GPU. The fans on the GPU spin, and there are no error messages from the PC, but I can't get any video output. However, if I switch back to the original Quadro K620 GPU, everything works fine. I've read that this setup should be feasible, so I'm looking for advice or insights from anyone who's dealt with similar issues. Currently, I'm using the Dell BIOS A18.

I had a similar experience with an older system. It might be worth trying a different PCIe slot if you have one available, as some motherboards can have quirky slot configurations. Also, ensure that the GPU is seated properly in the slot. Sometimes reseating the card can resolve connection issues. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the tip! I'll try reseating the GPU and testing the other PCIe slot to see if that makes a difference.

It sounds like you've already done a lot of troubleshooting! One thing you might want to check is whether the 5070 GPU needs additional power connectors apart from the one you're currently using. Also, make sure your BIOS settings are optimized for using a dedicated GPU instead of the integrated graphics. Sometimes, you need to disable the onboard graphics option in the settings to get it to recognize the new GPU correctly. Let me know if you’ve tried that before!

I haven't checked the BIOS settings yet. I will look into that and see if disabling the onboard graphics helps!
