I accidentally cut the 2-pin cable of the RGB switch in my case. Can I just splice the wires back together and will that work? Alternatively, is it possible to remove the connector from the cut wire and reattach it to the remaining wire since it's too long? I also know someone with a crimping tool for ethernet cables; can that be used here, and will the connector be reusable?

You'll need a "DuPont Crimper" to attach a two-pin machine-pin header socket to the end of the wire. It's easy to do, and I got mine on Amazon for about $20. It even came with a bunch of machine-pin headers and pins to work with!
