How to Fix the DirectX 12 Not Supported Error in Fortnite on Windows 11?

Hey everyone! I'm stuck with an error message that says, "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument." I've tried everything I can think of, including uninstalling and reinstalling my GPU drivers, updating Windows, updating my BIOS, and making sure Fortnite runs using my GPU in Windows settings. When I tried adding -dx11 or -d3d11 to the command line, I got another error saying I don't have DirectX 11 support either. Marvel Rivals runs fine, but I can't even open Fortnite! Anyone found a solution? Here are my PC specs: i5 6400, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and GeForce GTX 970. I'd really appreciate any help!

Also, it sounds like you’ve done a lot already! Maybe check if you’ve got the latest version of Windows 11. Sometimes an update can fix compatibility issues with games.

Just a heads up, before making changes to your BIOS or system settings, always back up your data. It’s easy to lose files during those changes. You mentioned you did everything else, but make sure you check those backups too, just in case!

Make sure that both your GPU drivers and DirectX are installed properly. Even though it should be automatic, sometimes a manual install is necessary. You might need to download the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer or the full DirectX Runtime for a fresh installation.
