My boyfriend is turning 50 in October, and he's very close with his large family. I'll see many of them at a family reunion tomorrow and want to give everyone one simple link for uploading a personal video message. The clips could come from computers, Android phones, or iPhones, and might range from about a minute to more than 10 minutes. I'd like the files stored online because my phone doesn't have much space, and I want to download and combine everything into one longer video later. Ideally, people could upload directly through the link without creating an account. Is there a free or inexpensive service that would work well for older family members and handle at least 30 videos? I can set a time limit if necessary.

A shared cloud folder is probably the simplest option. You can create a folder, share an upload link, and keep the files online until you’re ready to edit them. Check the service’s permissions carefully: a normal shared folder may require contributors to sign in, while a file-request feature is designed specifically to let people upload without seeing or changing other files. Free storage may be enough for short clips, but 30 videos lasting five minutes or more could exceed the limit, so check the total size and consider upgrading temporarily if needed.
You can also accept files through several methods—text, email, or a file-transfer service—and then move everything into one cloud folder yourself. That works when people already know how to use those apps, but it may become confusing with dozens of contributors. One upload link is better for keeping the process organized.
Set a maximum length even though the birthday is months away. Asking for 30–60 seconds will make the final montage much easier to edit and keep it engaging. Otherwise, a few people may send long, rambling clips and you’ll have to spend much more time reviewing and trimming everything. Give everyone clear instructions, including the deadline, preferred video orientation, and the file naming format.
