Help with Installing Linux Alongside Windows

I'm trying to install Kubuntu on my PC that's already running Windows, but I'm hitting a wall with some error messages. Initially, I got a message saying "bad shim signature, you need to load the kernel," but after disabling secure boot in the BIOS, I'm now getting this error: "error: start_image() returned 0x8000000000000001" and another one that says "0.0560431 BUG: Bad page state in process despoter pfn: 7efe9c." Now, my Windows won't boot either. I really just want to get Linux running and could use some advice. Any suggestions?

Are you getting that error from the Live USB or the installed system? If it's from the USB, can you let me know how you made the USB? It's important to figure out where the issue lies before moving forward.

I had a similar issue before. Consider disconnecting your Windows drive and installing Linux on a separate SSD. This way, you avoid any conflicts and can keep your Windows installation intact.

You might want to try disabling Secure Boot in your BIOS settings. It can cause issues with installing Linux. Also, keep in mind that dual-booting on a single drive can lead to complications later on.
