I'm currently using an AM4 setup with a 5700X and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. I just upgraded from a 3080 to a 5070Ti and I've noticed that I'm experiencing some CPU bottlenecking in the games I enjoy, such as The Finals, Oblivion, and Cyberpunk, especially when playing at a resolution of 3440x1440p ultrawide. I don't think I need a high-end chip like the X3D version, so I'm trying to figure out whether I should go with a 9600X or a 9700X to avoid bottlenecks. I've seen mixed opinions online, so I'd love to hear your thoughts specific to my gaming style and resolution. The 9600X is available for around $200, while the 9700X is about $300. What do you think?

For gaming, the extra two cores of the 9700X typically won't significantly improve performance compared to the 9600X. They’re pretty close in terms of performance. If the price difference isn’t too much, you might consider getting the 9700X, but I wouldn't recommend spending an extra $100 on it if you're mainly playing at 3440x1440p. It might be more beneficial to look at the 7800X3D or even stick with the 9600X for better value!
Thanks for the clarification! I was also wondering about the 7800X3D versus the 9600X. It sounds like that's worth considering if I want to future-proof a bit.
