I installed a fresh copy of Windows 11 Home using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool. I want to check whether BitLocker or Device Encryption is enabled and disable it if necessary, but I can't find either option in Settings or search. I created a local user account instead of signing in with a Microsoft account, so I'm also wondering whether that affects the availability of Device Encryption. Has this feature been removed from recent Windows 11 installations, or is it simply unavailable in the Home edition?

The full BitLocker management tools are generally a Windows Pro feature, so Windows 11 Home won’t show the usual “Manage BitLocker” control panel. Some Home systems can still support a separate Device Encryption feature, depending on the hardware and Windows configuration.
Using a local account can make a difference for Device Encryption. On supported Home devices, encryption may require or strongly encourage a Microsoft account so the recovery key can be backed up. A local account may therefore prevent Device Encryption from being offered, even if the hardware supports it.
