I've been using a secondhand PC with an Intel i5-7400 and RX 580 for about eight years, and it's starting to struggle with newer games. I mainly play games at 1080p and would like at least 60 FPS on high settings, with a budget of roughly €1,500.
I put together a potential build costing around €1,200 using local Lithuanian prices, but I've never built a PC before and haven't kept up with current hardware. I was also planning to reuse my existing RAM and relatively new HDD, even though the RAM configuration is unusual: 1×8 GB plus 2×4 GB. I understand that this isn't ideal, but upgrading the memory immediately may be difficult because of current prices.
The alternative is a prebuilt system for about €1,350 with these listed specifications:
- Ryzen 7 7700
- Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB GDDR6
- B850 motherboard
- 1 TB SSD
- 32 GB Kingston DDR5-6000 memory
- Silent Midi Tower case
- 650 W power supply
The seller doesn't provide the exact models for the motherboard, graphics card, case, or power supply. Does this prebuilt seem like a good deal, or are there potential compromises I should investigate first? Would I be better off building my own system despite having no previous experience?

The prebuilt looks like the stronger option for the money, especially because it already includes 32 GB of DDR5-6000. That’s much more suitable for a new gaming system than carrying over the old mixed RAM kit. The listed performance should be more than adequate for 1080p gaming, assuming the specifications are accurate.
I’d lean toward the prebuilt, but ask the seller for the exact component models before buying. The unknown power supply is the main concern, followed by the specific graphics card, motherboard, and case airflow. A 650 W unit can be perfectly adequate, but you want to know that it’s a reputable model rather than an unbranded budget part.
That makes sense. The simple case doesn’t bother me much, but I’ll definitely check what power supply and graphics card they’re using.
Do not reuse the old 1×8 GB plus 2×4 GB memory setup in the new build unless you have no alternative. It may work, but mixed capacities and mismatched modules can prevent optimal dual-channel operation and make troubleshooting harder. For a new platform, use a matched DDR5 kit instead. Your existing HDD can probably be reused for storage, but keep the operating system and games on the new SSD where possible.

The 32 GB of DDR5 is the biggest reason I’m considering it, since replacing memory separately would add quite a bit to the cost.
