Which GPU Should I Choose: 7700XT, 7800XT, or 5070?

I'm trying to decide between the 7700 XT, 7800 XT, and the 5070 for my new build. I have enough budget for all three options, but the 5070 is a bit pricier. I can trade in some old hardware at Newegg for the 7700 XT and 5070, but I've heard concerns about the 5070 having issues with the power connector melting. The 7800 XT seems like a solid option too, but I'm still on the fence. Any advice would be appreciated!

Seriously, avoid any GPUs with 8GB of VRAM now. It's 2025, and any company still making those should be questioned. Go for something with at least 12GB to future-proof yourself!

Most of the melting connector issues tend to be linked to the 5080 and 5090 cards rather than the 5070. You might want to look up the specifics on that if you're worried. It's good to stay informed!

If you're aiming for future support and features like Nvidia DLSS and frame generation, the 5070 could be a solid pick, even though there’s no ‘Ti’ version at the moment. Just keep that in mind!

Remember, though, there’s no Ti for the 5070 at all. Just something to consider!

Have you thought about the 9070 or 9070 XT? They might be better options given your situation and the performance you're looking for.

The 7800 XT stands out since it's the only one with 16GB of VRAM. For me, that makes it the obvious choice. More VRAM often means better performance in the long run!

But honestly, 12GB is still plenty for gaming these days. The 7700 and 7800 both perform well for most games.

The GPU market is really tough right now, and prices probably won't come down anytime soon. I'd suggest looking for a card with at least 12-16GB of VRAM if you can. The latest features might make the 5070 worth it, but it totally depends on your system needs and budget.

If you can get the 5060 Ti 16GB for the same price, it could be a better option over the 7700 XT or 7800 XT. The 5070 does offer good performance if you're willing to pay a little more, especially if VRAM is important to you.
