I bought a brand-new Armoury Phantom prebuilt PC and an LG UltraGear monitor yesterday. Everything worked normally during setup, but after I selected Windows 11's "Update and shutdown" option, the monitor stopped receiving a signal. I've already unplugged and reconnected the cables, but I have very little computer experience and would like to troubleshoot this myself before taking the PC in for diagnostics. The keyboard's Caps Lock and Num Lock lights also do not toggle when pressed. What should I check next?

The Caps Lock and Num Lock test is useful: if neither keyboard light changes, the PC may not have reached Windows at all. That makes suggestions like updating or reinstalling a graphics driver impractical because you cannot see the screen. First check that the computer itself is powered on and that any diagnostic lights or beep codes are not indicating a hardware problem. Avoid changing BIOS or disk settings while troubleshooting. Since the machine is new, document what happens during startup and contact the retailer if a full power reset and cable check do not restore the display.
Start with a complete power reset. Shut down the PC, unplug the power cables from both the computer and monitor, and wait about 10 seconds. Make sure the HDMI or DisplayPort cable is firmly connected at both ends, then reconnect everything. Turn the monitor on first and the PC second. If possible, try another video cable, a different port on the monitor, and another port on the graphics card. You should normally see a manufacturer logo or BIOS screen before Windows loads. If there is still no image and the keyboard lights do not respond, the computer may not be completing its startup process, so using the warranty or returning it is reasonable for a brand-new system.

I’ll try the other ports and cables. If it still does nothing, I’ll have the store check it under warranty.
