Is it feasible to own a computer indefinitely? I'm thinking of purchasing a top-of-the-line computer with a metal frame and non-soldered components. My plan is to replace parts as they degrade or become outdated. Is this actually a viable long-term strategy?

Absolutely! I've had my computer for 20 years now. I've swapped out the motherboard six times, replaced the CPU eight times, and have gone through multiple hard drives and cases. As parts wear out, I've kept replacing them. It's totally doable!
But aren't you then just maintaining a collection of parts? What makes it still the same computer?
