I'm 15 and live in a fairly small city and country, so I don't really have access to programming conferences or official events. I'd like to buy stickers for technologies I actually use or enjoy, such as Go and the Go gopher. Is that considered less legitimate than collecting stickers at conferences, or is it perfectly fine to purchase them yourself?

Even if you wanted to make or print your own stickers for personal use, that would be completely reasonable. The only thing worth considering is whether the artwork or logo has usage restrictions, but nobody is going to judge you for buying one.
Of course it’s fine. Buy stickers for the tools and projects you like, regardless of where you got them. Most people won’t care whether a sticker came from a conference, a store, or somewhere else.
Go for it. Stickers are just a fun way to show what you’re interested in, not some kind of achievement system. If you use or genuinely like the technology, there’s no reason you shouldn’t have its sticker.
