I have several laptops from different projects, and each one needs reliable charging, network access, and a way to connect to a monitor. I can use inexpensive KVM-over-IP hardware, so remote display control is not the main concern. The harder parts are organizing the machines, handling power and networking cleanly, and possibly keeping the setup secure and easy to maintain. I once saw a tabletop solution used for a similar project, but I don't remember the details. Has anyone found a commercial cart, shelf, cabinet, or practical DIY setup that works well for a growing collection of laptops, including multiple models being prepared through automated deployment?

You may have trouble finding one product that handles charging, networking, storage, and KVM together. A custom cart or small rack is probably more practical: use shelves or dividers for the laptops, a network switch and power distribution underneath, and separate KVM-over-IP devices as needed.
Look for a vertical laptop rack that supports individual slots rather than stacking machines directly on top of one another. The spacing helps with airflow during imaging or erasing, and a lockable lower section could hold the power equipment. Avoid tightly stacked laptops: one device powering on unexpectedly can create heat problems, and pressure on screens and lids becomes a concern as the stack gets taller.
If the budget is limited, start with vertical file organizers or charging shelves to keep the laptops separated, then add cable management, a switch, and a UPS. If the machines can operate with their lids closed, the whole thing could go on a rolling utility cart. It won’t be elegant, but it is inexpensive and easy to expand.
A lockable charging cabinet designed for tablets or small devices may be a useful starting point. The laptops can stay secured in the main compartment, while charging bricks, KVM adapters, and cable slack can be routed into an upper service area. Just verify the shelf spacing, power capacity, ventilation, and whether the laptop chargers physically fit.

For a small number of laptops, a desk mail sorter or file organizer can work surprisingly well. Stand the machines vertically with enough spacing for airflow, use right-angle USB-C adapters connected to docks below the desk, and let one cable provide power, networking, and display. A regular KVM can then switch between the laptops and another computer.
That worked for me temporarily, but the number of machines is increasing as each client adds more automated-deployment models. I need something that scales better than a desk organizer.
A compact, half-width rack or cube shelf is a good lab-style approach. You can mount one or two high-port-count PDUs, add a network switch, and use an inexpensive KVM-over-IP device for each laptop. Small single-board KVM systems can keep the cost much lower than buying a dedicated enterprise KVM for every machine.
That’s close to the semi-permanent setup I’m considering. I probably won’t need wheels, since the equipment can stay in one place.

That’s what I’m leaning toward, but I wanted to check whether anyone had found a better option. Most of the products I’ve located only provide charging, not a complete management setup.
