Hey everyone! I'm excited to share that I'll be joining AWS soon as an L6 individual contributor in the role of Sr Tech Delivery Manager. I'd appreciate any insights on what I can expect at this level, tips for succeeding in the role, and any particular challenges I should be aware of. Thanks in advance for your help!

You’ll go through a 3-month onboarding process, so take it easy and try to enjoy this transition. It’s a great chance to get a handle on your expectations and start off on the right foot!
Just a head’s up, this space is meant for AWS users rather than employees to share info. It’s not really an AWS employee community.
Welcome to AWS! As an L6, you’re expected to provide strong technical leadership, not just within your own team but possibly across others too. Once you start, you will have access to internal guidelines that will clarify your role further. It might sound cliché, but embracing AWS's Leadership Principles can really help you navigate your position effectively. Remember, there’s plenty of work out there, so honing your ‘ruthless prioritization’ skills will be super important. Finding a mentor outside your immediate team is also a great idea; AWS has a mentoring portal for that!
Haha, so true! I guess I'll find my community elsewhere.
