I've been trying to transfer data on my PC for over 224 hours now, and there's still 75GB left to go! It started off really fast at 500MB/min for the first 24 hours, then it dropped to 100MB/min, then 70MB/min, and now I'm down to just 27MB/min. I suspect my hard drive is failing, and I thought using Disk Genius would help fix that, but I may have messed it up. Is there any way to stop this transfer without losing my operating system? If that's not possible, I'm okay with redownloading everything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, it sounds like a bit of a mess. If you’re seeing speeds that low, it might be better to just halt the process and try again when you're ready. You could back up what you want later if you can afford to lose some data, but make sure your system is stable enough for testing afterward!
When dealing with a failing hard drive, it's generally best to replace it rather than try to fix it. If Disk Genius is working on moving partitions, it's advisable to let it finish. But if it's just a data backup, you should be able to cancel it without any major consequences. Just keep in mind that if you stop it midway, you might end up with incomplete data on your SSD.
Just be cautious! If it’s copying to your SSD, stopping it might leave your SSD with some unfinished files. But if you're not worried about losing data, stopping it could be the better option.
For sure! You might want to run some diagnostics on your drive afterward. If it’s really failing, you definitely want to focus on getting that new hard drive before doing anything else.
