I recently bought a MacBook Neo running macOS Tahoe and am trying to transfer my files from a Windows 11 PC using Migration Assistant. The Mac was already set up using my phone. Each time I reach the screen displaying the connection code for the Windows computer, the Mac immediately drops its Wi‑Fi connection, so the two computers cannot complete the connection. The Windows PC stays connected, and the problem occurs before the transfer begins. I'm using the correct Windows Migration Assistant version for Tahoe. I can try an Ethernet connection once my USB‑C hub arrives, but I'd prefer to fix the Mac's Wi‑Fi behavior first. What should I try?

Try the troubleshooting steps in Apple’s Migration Assistant guide under the section for when migration fails. Even if the Windows utility reports no problems, following those steps and retrying can clear up connection or setup issues before resorting to Ethernet.

I already ran the suggested checks on the Windows PC, and they completed without reporting any issues. That’s why I suspect the problem is on the Mac side.
