I'm setting up an Apple Account on a new iPhone 16. My email and password work, and I successfully enter the verification code sent to my email. The setup then asks for my debit card's security code, but it keeps rejecting it even though the card is unlocked and the information appears correct. I had an Apple Account years ago, so I'm wondering whether an old payment setup could be causing the problem. How can I finish creating the account or add another payment method?

Try signing in to Apple’s account and media services website from a browser, then update or replace the payment method there. After that, return to the iPhone and continue the setup. This can help when the account is still using an older payment or security configuration.
It may be worth confirming the card details with your bank or card issuer, especially the security code and billing address. If everything checks out, try adding a different payment method instead of continuing with that debit card.

I’ve checked the card and everything looks correct. How can I add another payment method if I can’t get past this Apple Account setup screen?
