I cracked my iPhone 17 Pro Max for the first time and regret not buying AppleCare when I had the chance. The phone is still less than a year old, but it only has Apple's limited warranty, which doesn't cover accidental damage. I recently bought AirPods with AppleCare One and am wondering whether I can add the iPhone to that plan now. Since the screen is already cracked, will Apple require an inspection or reject the enrollment?

It’s worth checking in your Apple account or asking Apple directly. Eligibility can depend on the enrollment window and the phone’s condition, so you’ll find out whether an inspection is required when you try to add it.
You may be able to add the iPhone to AppleCare One, but Apple could require a device inspection first. Because the screen is already damaged, enrollment isn’t guaranteed, and the existing crack likely won’t be covered.
