HP Victus Suddenly Died During Gaming and Shows No Signs of Power

My three-year-old HP Victus gaming laptop suddenly shut off while I was gaming. There was no warning or error message, and now it is completely unresponsive: no charging light, fan noise, or other signs of life. The battery was fully charged when it happened, but it will not start on battery power or with the charger connected. I have already tried holding the power button for 60 seconds and the Windows + V power-button reset, but neither helped. I also tried disconnecting the battery without success. I upgraded the laptop to 64 GB of RAM, so I'm hoping to find out whether there are any other troubleshooting steps worth trying before taking it to a repair shop—and whether the SSD and RAM can be recovered or reused if the laptop's motherboard has failed.

If the battery can be disconnected, unplug the charger, remove the battery connection, and hold the power button for around a minute to drain any residual charge. Then reconnect the battery and try the charger again. Since you’re getting no fan movement or indicator lights at all, though, this sounds more like a power-delivery or motherboard problem than a display issue.

I tried disconnecting the battery and doing the power-button discharge, but it stayed completely dead with no fan noise or lights.

At this point, a reputable repair shop is probably the best next step. They may be able to identify whether the fault is the charger port, charging circuit, motherboard, or another power component before you spend money on parts. Avoid repeatedly powering it on if you notice heat, a burnt smell, or a swollen battery.

I’ve contacted a local repair shop and plan to take it in. My main priorities are protecting the data on the SSD and seeing whether the RAM can be reused if the laptop itself is beyond repair.
