My laptop started showing a single green dot in the center of the screen after I removed the NVIDIA GPU through Device Manager and reinstalled it. I originally did that because the GPU was not appearing in games and seemed not to be working. I tried using a screen pixel-fixing tool, but the green dot remained. I then noticed that the NVIDIA device was reporting Code 43. Running DDU in Safe Mode and reinstalling the drivers did not resolve either issue. The laptop has an RTX 5050, and I live in a dusty construction-heavy area, although there has been no physical damage or obvious incident. What could be causing this, and is there anything else I can try?

Code 43 means the device reported a problem to Windows. Since completely removing the drivers with DDU did not help, this is more likely a hardware or firmware fault than a normal driver installation issue. The green dot could also be a stuck or damaged display pixel, but it may be related to the broader GPU problem.
If the GPU is failing, the graphics chip or the laptop motherboard may need repair or replacement. Software tools generally cannot fix a device that continues to report Code 43 after a clean driver reinstall. Since the laptop is under warranty, contact the manufacturer or seller and provide the Code 43 details; they can confirm the failure and handle any covered repair.
There was no gaming session, impact, or other obvious event before this happened. Could dust or a hidden hardware fault cause it, and would the warranty normally cover this kind of failure?
