Why does my PC suddenly restart when I play Fallout 4, Fallout: New Vegas, or Skyrim?

My PC abruptly shuts down with a black screen and then powers itself back on while playing Fallout 4, Fallout: New Vegas, and Skyrim. It does not simply crash to the desktop or show a blue screen. The system has 16 GB of RAM, a Ryzen 5 5500, an RTX 5050, and an 800-watt power supply. I play at 1080p, 60 FPS, and 60 Hz. Other demanding games, including Cyberpunk 2077 and God of War, run normally. What could be causing this issue, and what should I check first?

When you say it turns off, do you mean the whole system loses power immediately, or do you get a blue screen or a normal game crash? An instant black screen followed by an automatic restart usually points more toward a power, temperature, driver, or hardware-protection issue than the game itself. Check CPU and GPU temperatures, Windows Event Viewer, and whether the games are heavily modded. It is also worth reinstalling or updating the graphics driver and testing with all overclocks or undervolts disabled.

There is no blue screen or error message. The screen goes black, the PC shuts off, and it starts up again by itself.
