While uninstalling the Google Drive desktop application, I ran into a few problems. During the process, I noticed that my available disk space had suddenly decreased by almost 6 GB. I've tried to figure out where the space went but haven't been able to recover it. What should I check?

Use a disk-space analyzer such as WizTree to see exactly which folders and files are taking up the extra space. Check your user folder carefully, since Google Drive-related files may be stored there rather than in the program installation directory.

I’ll check that out—thanks!

You can also inspect the drive through File Explorer by opening the properties for your C: drive and reviewing the indexing settings. Changing or rebuilding indexing may take some time, but first identify the large files so you don’t delete anything important by mistake.

I’ll give that a try too. Thanks!
